As we tour the city, we’ll enjoy an overview of the history and hot spots of this energetic city courtesy of the vocal interpretations of our singing guide. A special treat is in store as we next travel to Fontanel Mansion, a 33,000 square foot log home formerly owned by Country Music legend Barbara Mandrell, and the site of Nashville’s only country music mansion tour. The home boasts three stories, more than twenty rooms, thirteen bathrooms, five fireplaces, two kitchens, an indoor pool, and even an indoor shooting range! It’s also filled to the brim with memorabilia from the Mandrell family as well as one-of-a-kind items from country superstars like Kenny Chesney, Big & Rich, Gretchen Wilson, and more. This spectacular home and the surrounding grounds have also served as the setting for numerous photo and video shoots, tv shows and hit movies. We’ll enjoy a delicious lunch at Fontanel before making our way to the Country Music Hall of Fame and Museum. The story of country music is revealed here through an unrivaled collection of artifacts, photographs, recorded sound, vintage video, and interactive touch screens. Pigeon Forge, TN – We begin today with breakfast at our hotel before we make our way to Great Smoky Mountains National Park with our step-on guide. Straddling the border between North Carolina and Tennessee, this magnificent park contains ridge upon ridge of endless forest. World-renowned for the beauty of its ancient mountains and the remnants of Southern Appalachian mountain culture, this is America’s most visited national park. Most visitors specifically come to the Smokies hoping for a glimpse of one of the park’s nearly 1,600 bears. From the big animals like bears, deer, and elk, down to microscopic organisms, the Smokies boast the greatest biological diversity of any area in the world’s temperate zone. The park is a sanctuary for this magnificent array of animal and plant life, all of which are protected for future generations to enjoy. As we travel back to Pigeon Forge we will make a stop in Gatlinburg to ride the Ober Gatlinburg Aerial Tram up the mountain for a breathtaking view of the mountains and valleys below.
