Cleveland, OH – Our day starts with breakfast at the hotel before we let “the good times roll” on our journey to Cleveland and the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame Museum, with lunch on our own along the way. We’ll explore the exhibits and leave with a greater appreciation for rock and roll. Afterward we will check-in to our hotel and enjoy dinner at a local restaurant.
Niagara Falls, NY – We begin today with breakfast at our hotel and get an early start on our drive to Niagara Falls, NY where we will lunch in style at the extraordinary Top of the Falls Restaurant. After lunch we will take a cruise aboard The Maid of the Mist. On this famous ride we’ll journey into the heart of one of North America’s most powerful waterfalls. We’ll hear the crashing of the waves, see the breathtaking views and feel the mighty rush of the mist on our faces. Back on land, our hotel in Niagara Falls is within walking distance of shops to browse later in the afternoon and plenty of restaurants for dinner on our own.
Montpelier, VT – After breakfast we will depart for the region of Montpelier, VT and enjoy the gentle introduction of fall colors on our journey in this northern clime. When we arrive at our hotel we will enjoy a lovely meal at a local restaurant before we retire for the evening.
Stowe, VT/Montpelier, VT – Today we visit the Green Mountain Coffee Company in Waterbury, VT before moving on to the quaint Cold Hollow Cider Mill in Waterbury Center. Our next stop is the famous Trapp Family Lodge. Situated on 2,500 acres, the Trapp Family Lodge is a unique mountain resort featuring Austrian-inspired architecture. The Lodge offers stunning mountain views and we’ll have time to enjoy lunch and explore the beautiful grounds and the gift shop. For dessert we’ll make our way to Ben & Jerry’s Ice Cream Factory to try a delectable sample and learn how they get so much deliciousness into every scoop! And no trip would be complete without a visit to the Lake Champlain Chocolate Company store in Waterbury where we will learn how chocolate is made and, of course, enjoy some free samples! This evening is at our leisure to explore Montpelier and have dinner on our own.
Kennebunkport, ME – After a wonderful breakfast we’ll board our motorcoach for the exciting journey to Kennebunkport, the summer haven for the upper class and one of the wealthiest communities in the state of Maine. Here we will step aboard a sightseeing vessel on the New England coast and venture out into the Gulf of Maine for a scenic lobster cruise. When we return to shore, time will be available to browse the many quaint shops in the charming city of Kennebunkport. Tonight’s dinner is sure to be quite the experience as we enjoy an authentic lobster bake at our hotel!
Falmouth, MA – We say goodbye to Kennebunkport after breakfast this morning as we set our sails for Cape Cod and Falmouth, MA. Along the way we will get a glimpse at the life of the Pilgrims during a self-guided tour of Plimoth Plantation in Plymouth, MA. The plantation is a living history museum that attempts to recreate the original settlement of the Plymouth Colony. Living exhibits include the Wampanoag Homesite where we’ll discover how the 17th-century Wampanoag would have lived along the coast during the growing season, and the 17th-Century English Village. Feel free to walk in on the Pilgrims as they eat dinner or join a lively conversation in the street. Ask about religious beliefs, education and child rearing, relations with Native People, gardens, cooking or any topic of interest to you. After our step back in time we will once again board the motorcoach and depart for Sandwich, MA and an intriguing stop at the Sandwich Glass Museum. Our day comes to an end at our Falmouth hotel where the remainder of the evening is ours to enjoy an authentic New England meal on our own.
Falmouth, MA – Breakfast will be provided at our hotel before we depart on a ferry ride to the beautiful island of Martha’s Vineyard, a favorite vacation spot for Presidents Clinton and Obama. The island is about 96 square miles of beauty, with 124 miles of coastline and acres of preserved land. The charm of the Vineyard will seem to slow time and offer a sense of relaxation. Once an early refuge for coastal ship traffic, it blossomed into a whaling community in the 18th and 19th century and evolved into what is now a popular tourist destination. The morning and early afternoon are yours to explore the island on your own. There are many shops, boutiques, galleries and restaurants waiting to be discovered. Upon our return to Falmouth late in the afternoon, time will be available to relax and freshen up for dinner.
Boston, MA – Following breakfast we depart for Boston, the cradle of American history. Our step-on guide will join us downtown and take us on a guided walking tour of the Freedom Trail before leaving us at Quincy Market. The market is a favorite stop for tourists and locals alike who wish to enjoy the many restaurants, retail shops, cafes, push carts, street performers and food colonnade merchants in the area. After time to explore on our own we will depart the downtown area and make the short drive to the John F. Kennedy Presidential Library and Museum. Tonight we enjoy a farewell dinner together.
Home – After breakfast at the hotel we will head for the airport and our flight home.
