DAY 1 SATURDAY, OCTOBER 3
Today, we will meet at the airport for our flight to Boston. Upon arrival, we will be
met by our motorcoach and tour manager and head to our hotel to check in for the
night. From your room, admire beautiful views of the autumn leaves covering the
city.
DAY 2 SUNDAY, OCTOBER 4
Enjoy breakfast at the hotel this morning before we set out along the Freedom Trail for a crash course in early American history. Marked mainly by red brick, this famous two-and-a-half-mile trek through the center of Boston is dotted with sixteen significant locations, including a unique collection of museums, churches, meeting houses, burying grounds, parks, a ship, and historic markers that tell the story of the American Revolution and beyond. Later in the afternoon, we will head toward the harbor and board the Norwegian Breakaway to begin our incredible journey through New England and Canada!
DAY 3 MONDAY, OCTOBER 5
Experience life at sea and take advantage of the countless opportunities on board for shopping, dining, and entertainment. Catch the dazzling energy of Broadway
with spectacular performances like Burn the Floor. Chill out at the Skyy Vodka Ice Bar, an unforgettable arctic-inspired lounge made entirely of ice, appreciate an impressive list of imported and domestic beers at the Maltings Beer & Whiskey Bar, or try a new cocktail at Shakers Martini & Cocktails Bar. Plus, the restaurants will not disappoint! Enjoy premium cuts at Cagney’s Steakhouse or indulge in delicious Italian fare at La Cucina.
DAY 4 TUESDAY, OCTOBER 6
Portland offers all the amenities of a big city: art districts, a vibrant waterfront, museums, parks, and diverse shopping opportunities. But within minutes, you can admire breathtaking ocean views from a historic lighthouse or savor the fresh flavors of a locally caught lobster. Venture to Freeport for a shopping spree at the iconic L.L. Bean flagship store, discover the seaside beauty of Kennebunkport, or embark on a Portland foodie walking tour to sample the city’s renowned culinary delights.
DAY 5 WEDNESDAY, OCTOBER 7
Bar Harbor has retained much of its charm since its glory days of the 1900s, when America’s elite vacationed in opulent summer cottages. Surrounding the rock-bound harbor is the world-famous Acadia National Park, where the opulence of nature is on display. Unwind at the beach and take the spectacular view of the soaring granite cliffs. Stroll along the Shore Path, where the land meets the sea, to the cobblestone streets dotted with charming shops and family-owned businesses. Bar Harbor runs at a slower speed, so take a moment to breathe in the ocean air and feel your body begin to relax – it’s a perfect place to start off a vacation!
DAY 6 THURSDAY, OCTOBER 8
Saint John’s history is evident in its weather-worn look, passing the tests of salt air, sea winds, and a devastating fire that made Saint John the greatest little city in the
east. Consider venturing to the famous Hopewell Rocks, where shifting continents, melting glaciers, and extreme tides have sculpted beautiful rock formations. Learn the history of sugaring at a maple sugar farm, take a photography tour along the coast, or enjoy a foodies’ tour at the Old City Market
DAY 7 FRIDAY, OCTOBER 9
Admire the rugged coastline surrounding Halifax, the world’s second-largest natural harbor. This beautifully preserved city is Nova Scotia’s capital and was founded in 1749. Take steps through history and climb to the star-shaped Citadel to witness the Old Town Clock. Ride the Harbor Hopper for a unique land-and-sea tour or delve into Halifax’s Titanic connection at the Maritime Museum of the Atlantic and Fairview Lawn Cemetery. Consider venturing outside the city to experience Lunenburg’s fishing heritage, Mahone Bay’s three waterfront churches, and the famous lighthouse in
Peggy’s Cove.
Day 8 Saturday, October 10
There’s still so much left to see and do aboard the Breakaway. It’s our last day and night on board, so grab a table in a restaurant you want to try or a bar you have yet to experience.
